Exploring how a single artwork manifests across different mediums. Python, vector, After Effects, Cinema 4D. How does the medium shape expression?

The question
How does a single artwork change when expressed through different mediums? This exploration takes one core concept and renders it across four distinct tools.
- Python/DrawBot. Raw bitmap render, the purest expression of the algorithm.
- Vector graphics. Clean lines, scalable, precise.
- After Effects. Animation brings the static to life, adding time as a dimension.
- Cinema 4D. Three-dimensional space transforms flat elements into sculptural forms.
The code is simple. A few parameters, some trig, and a loop. But the output feels like something you couldn't have drawn by hand. That tension is what keeps me coming back to this process.
Each medium shapes the artistic expression and the viewer's experience in fundamentally different ways. The algorithm is the same, but the output is never the same.
